Keep A Steady Heart

“When people speak badly about you, you should respond in this way:
Keep a steady heart and do not reply with harsh words. Practice letting go of resentment, and accept that another’s hostility is the spur to your understanding. Be kind, adopt a generous standpoint, treat your enemy as a friend, and suffuse your world with affectionate thoughts, far-reaching and widespread, limitless and free from hate.” ~ Buddha

  1. A wise woman shared with me some time back that when something comes at us that is not loving, to stop and feel the hurt that is exposed, bring your hand lovingly to your heart ,hold and gently lower your head toward your heart and Feel, acknowledge and accept that the world is hurting and that you have been given an opportunity to embrace your hurts. This will allow you to shine a little brighter next time and show another that there is a different way.
Thank you for posting this Rachel with daily practice a steady heart becomes a strong foundation.

    1. Thank you Lee – this is amazing. I will practice this! The world hurts, yes it does and it is ok to feel that. Thank you Rachel for this inspiring blog!

      1. Remember nothing can touch the quality of your inner heart, bring yourself back to that, feel who you are, observe the World and know that yes life is not as it should be but that you can be you in it

  2. Lovely exchange, Lee, Rachel – thank you for posting and, as you say, a great reminder that in our core, the heart remains as love – no matter what we are feeling.
