Start to Love Again

Sometimes we get hurt by life, we think we get hurt by people and then hold them to ransom, keeping them at arm’s length until they prove worthy of our love.

We hold our love back, fearing being vulnerable, fearing rejection and not being loved in return.

What if we just love them anyway, risk getting hurt again and see what happens?

The more open and loving I am the less I get hurt and the more understanding of people I have.

How different would your life be if you let down your guard, let people see the real you and started to love again?

  1. It can be tough to open yourself up and make yourself “vulnerable” but if we don’t love others, we can’t have love in return. We can harden our hearts and run from love all we want, but then we miss out on the true beauty of life.

    1. Beautifully put. It is hard to be vulnerable but it is so worth it for what you give out returns. We can’t expect others to love us if we do not at first love ourselves with a willingness to love everyone we meet.

  2. When we let go of holding ourselves ransom, the whole world can see the beauty you are – and they are not shy in coming forward to tell you about it. How simple, how enormously building it is to finally let go and free yourself from the prison of our minds, and begin to embrace the universal beauty of our heart.

  3. Yes, I am learning this, it’s great to have it summed up. Despite whatever hurts from the past exist, being open and loving is the best way forward. I am learning this after decades of keeping people out and hurting myself more not less with this stance. How lovely I am seeing things another way now….
